Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Project Accountant to coordinate all phases of construction job costing, including categorizing, recording, analyzing, and monitoring costs and billings for a large project and several smaller ones. You will work with the Project Manager to ensure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.

Responsibilities include compiling monthly billings, reconciling costs vs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of project accounting experience preferred.
• Strong accounting knowledge.
• Strong organization skills with high level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Compiles, prepares and analyzes monthly project billings per contract requirements.
• Performs financial analysis and reconciliation of project costs versus project budget.
• Processes project accounts payable and subcontracts payable.
• Manages vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s.
• Produces and analyzes job performance and profitability through jobs cost tracking reports.
• Assists in preparation of status reports and maintains accurate project statuses and budget information in COINs.
• Identifies and resolves basic and more complex project related accounting issues and resolves in a timely manner.
