Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Project Accountant for a high-profile data center construction project in Umatilla, OR. You will partner with project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, billing, payroll, and robust project accounting for a $50 million initiative.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of construction accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems. This is a full-time, onsite role with contract-to-hire potential and weekday hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction accounting experience.
• Experience with AP, AR, job costing, progress billing, and project accounting.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Public works construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a financial partner to multiple project teams for accurate reporting, billing, payroll and accounting operations.
• Manage construction-related accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Process and reconcile project-related financial transactions.
• Perform job costing and project accounting functions.
• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly and annual financial close processes.
• Support internal and external audit activities.
• Process weekly union and certified payroll for project employees.
• Track and support progress billings, retention management, and lien releases.
• Work closely with Project Managers across multiple active projects.
• Process subcontractor payments through Textura.
• Generate and analyze financial reports using Excel and ERP systems.
• Review project contracts and documentation within Procore.

What You'll Do

As a Project Accountant, you'll serve as a key financial partner to multiple project teams, helping ensure accurate project reporting, billing, payroll, and accounting operations.

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
