Job summary

Wood Air Conditioning & Plumbing is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support financial operations for commercial HVAC/R projects. Based in Round Rock, TX, you will work with project teams to ensure accurate billing, cost tracking, and timely financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

The role offers salary between $65,000 and $80,000 with weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to work on nationwide large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in accounting or related role
• Experience in HVAC/R, construction, or field-service industries preferred
• Experience with progress billing, retainage, lien waivers, or percentage-of-completion accounting
• Job costing and project margin analysis experience
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivots) and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Prepare project billings and AIA pay applications
• Track retainage and change orders as applicable
• Prepare lien waivers and related billing docs
• Manage accounts receivable activities and collections support
• Reconcile project budgets to actual costs monthly
• Monitor Costs in Excess (CIE) and report issues to management
• Assist with payroll processing and labor allocations
• Ensure contract billing compliance and retainage schedules
• Support month-end and year-end close and project audits
