Jobot is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support construction and specialty contracting entities in Orlando, FL. This full-time role focuses on project cost accounting, field data reconciliation, and cash-flow forecasting across multiple entities, collaborating with project managers and leadership.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 3–5 years in construction accounting, and strong experience with Sage Intacct and Excel.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to manage financial operations, cost control, and cash management across a diverse group of specialty trade, construction, and field service entities. In this role, you will act as the key financial bridge between field project managers, operational leads, and executive leadership. You will oversee job costing, multi-entity general ledger accounting, and rolling cash flow forecasts across active trade and construction projects.

Job Details

Core Responsibilities

• Project Cost Accounting & Budgeting: Partner monthly with Project Managers to review project budgets, field expenditures, and job costs, ensuring accurate cost-to-complete tracking and variance analysis.
• Field Data & ERP Integration: Reconcile daily operational field data, work orders, and field invoices from mobile management systems (e.g., MobiWork) into the general ledger (Sage Intacct).
• Cash Flow Management & Forecasting: Maintain multi-entity liquidity by preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly cash position updates and forward-looking forecasts.
• Full-Cycle Financial Reporting: Execute timely month-end closes, reconcile balance sheet accounts, post journal entries, and compile comprehensive financial statement packages.
• AP, AR & Intercompany Transactions: Oversee vendor payments, subcontractor billings, client collections, and intercompany fee allocations across parent and subsidiary operating entities.
• Audit & Tax Compliance: Coordinate sales and use tax filings, support external audit processes, and enforce internal accounting controls.

Qualifications & Key Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience, specifically within construction, general contracting, or specialty trade subcontracting (e.g., concrete, roofing, HVAC, specialty carpentry).
• Technical Stack: Experience with Sage Intacct or similar construction ERPs, combined with mobile field integration software (e.g., MobiWork). Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Core Competencies: Solid understanding of GAAP, WIP (Work-In-Progress) management, job costing, and multi-entity intercompany accounting.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to review variances with operational leads and present clear financial data to leadership.
