Job summary

Jobot in Gainesville, FL seeks a Senior Project Accountant to support project financial management from inception through close-out in a permanent, on-site role.

The position collaborates with project leaders and the finance team to ensure accurate cost capture, variance analysis, and timely reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in construction job costing or project accounting.
• Strong command of WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, and change order management.
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct ERP and advanced Excel capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, analyze, and reconcile job cost ledgers for accurate expense allocations.
• Monitor actual expenditures against estimates and budgets with variance reporting.
• Coordinate with project managers on progress billings using % of completion and T&M.
• Review subcontractor pay applications and manage change order tracking.
• Assist with payroll processing, labor burden tracking, and certified payroll reporting.
• Support month-end close, internal controls, and audit workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, analyze, and reconcile job cost ledgers to ensure accurate expense allocations.
• Monitor actual project expenditures against original estimates and baseline budgets, providing detailed variance reports.
• Coordinate with project managers to generate progress billings utilizing percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and T&M billing structures.
• Review and process subcontractor pay applications and manage change order tracking.
• Assist with project payroll processing, labor burden tracking, and certified payroll reporting where required.
• Support month-end close operations, internal controls enhancement, and audit workflows.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused specifically on construction job costing or project accounting.
• Strong command of WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, and change order management.
