Job summary

HDR invites applications for a Project Accountant to manage client invoicing, collections, budgeting, and contract administration. The role supports project managers, maintains accounting records, and ensures compliance with contract requirements.

The position requires an Associate degree (or higher) and at least 5 years of experience, with Earned Value Management familiarity and strong MS Office skills. Local candidates are preferred for this on-site Pittsburgh role.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience.
• Familiar with Earned Value Management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Invoicing, collections management and project budgeting; backup on A/P, timesheets and expense reports.
• Contract documentation, administration and maintenance; fee and budget entry.
• Provide timely contract performance data and resolve financial issues with project staff.
• Coordinate the project accounting system within the department and ensure contractual compliance.
• Assist multiple project managers and staff daily; mentor junior project accountants.
• Perform other duties as needed.
