Job summary

MANGAT Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for construction and real estate development projects.

You will handle AP/AR, job costing, WIP, retainage, progress billings, payroll, and financial reporting to support project managers and ownership with timely, accurate data.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in construction or real estate development.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
• Hands-on with job costing, WIP, retainage, progress billing, lien waivers.
• Knowledge of AP/AR, bank reconciliations, GL, journal entries, accruals, and fixed assets.
• Payroll processing experience.

We manage civil construction and commercial development projects and hold ourselves to a high standard in the field and in the office. This is a fast-moving environment where your work directly impacts projects and people.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to handle full-cycle accounting across both our construction and real estate development entities. You will manage day-to-day accounting operations and support project managers and ownership with accurate, timely financial data.

Responsibilities include AP/AR, bank and credit card reconciliations, general ledger, journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, depreciation, and payroll. On the project side, you will handle job costing, cost codes, purchase orders, subcontractor invoicing, change orders, retainage, progress billings, WIP schedules, equipment costs, and lien waiver collection.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience in construction or real estate development
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online
• Hands-on experience with job costing, WIP, retainage, progress billing, and lien waivers
• Strong knowledge of AP/AR, bank reconciliations, GL, journal entries, accruals, and fixed assets
• Payroll processing experience
• Able to manage multiple entities and projects simultaneously
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent experience
