Job summary

Cobalt Recruitment is seeking a Project Accountant for a national general contractor in New York. You will reconcile and maintain accurate project accounting records, support the CFO with subcontractor payments, and participate in monthly close and financial reviews.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years in construction accounting, and experience with AIA billing, Procore, and Sage 300.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or similar field.
• 5+ years of experience related to the Construction Project Accountant role.
• AIA billing experience preferred.
• NYC and NYS public agency billing preferred.
• Sage 300 & Procore software experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Kick-off meeting with Project Management and Estimating teams.
• Process monthly client AIA G702/G703 pay applications via Procore/SAGE.
• Manage subcontractor project AIA invoicing via Procore/SAGE.
• Accounts receivable & AR collections: follow up with clients on outstanding pay apps.
• Assist CFO with weekly subcontractor payments.
• Assist CFO with month-end closing process.
• Complete project financial closeout after project completion.
• Monthly project financial reviews with PMs and CFO.
• Perform other duties as assigned by CFO.

A national general contractor is looking to add a Project Accountant to their team. The Project Accountant is responsible for reconciling and maintaining accurate and complete project accounting records. Ideally, the Project Accountant has experience with AIA billing.

• Project Kick-Off Meeting with Project Management Team and Estimating Team
• Process Monthly Client AIA G702/G703 Pay Applications through Procore/SAGE software
• Managing Subcontractor Project AIA Invoicing through Procore/SAGE software
• Accounts Receivable & AR Collections: Follow up with clients on outstanding pay applications
• Assist the CFO with weekly Subcontractor payments
• Assist CFO with the month-end closing process
• Complete project financial closeout upon completion of the project
• Monthly Project Financial reviews with Project Managers and CFO
• Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO
