Job summary

Kforce's client, a leading NYC real estate developer, is hiring a Project Accountant for full cycle billing and financial analysis of capital improvement and development projects. This in-office role reports to the Senior Project Accountant and serves as the liaison between project teams and corporate accounting.

You will perform tasks such as collecting subcontractor invoices, verifying AIA accuracy, reviewing requisitions, and compiling monthly AR billing for properties and tenants, with

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related construction accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with TimberScan preferred; not required.
• Proficient in Excel, Procore, and Sage 300.

Responsibilities

• Collect subcontractor trade AIA G702/703 and vendor invoices.
• Verify accuracy of AIA from all trade subcontractors.
• Review requisitions for errors or missing information.
• Distribute AIA to Project Managers.
• Attend meetings with Project Managers and subcontractors.
• Record subcontractor AIAs and general conditions in the accounting system.
• Prepare Accounts Receivable billing for monthly activity.

As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for all accounting information being recorded and reported and serve as point of contact between project team and corporate accounting dept. • Verify accuracy of AIA from all trade subcontractors including project roll forward, mathematical accuracy, and completeness of support (lien waivers, insurance, etc.)
• Review requisitions for errors or missing information
• Distribute AIA's to Project Managers
• Attend meetings with Project Managers and subcontractors to review project status and reporting
• Record subcontractor AIAs and general conditions in the accounting system

Requirements

• 2+ years of related construction accounting experience
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Management software and TimberScan (Accounts Payable approval software) preferred, but not required
• Proficient in daily use of Excel, Procore and Sage 300 are preferred
• Willingness to work in office most days in midtown Manhattan

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
