Job summary

HireIQ, partnering with an established engineering consultancy, seeks a Project Accountant to join its Morris County office. The role focuses on managing project financials, billing, collections and reporting across a varied portfolio of engineering projects.

You will work closely with project managers and senior leadership, supporting projects from small assignments to multimillion-dollar engagements with emphasis on accuracy and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6–15 years of accounting experience.
• Engineering, architecture or consulting engineering environment preferred.
• Strong project accounting and billing experience.
• Experience working directly with Project Managers.
• Good understanding of project costs, budgets, revenue and collections.
• Strong Excel and general accounting-system skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Managing project accounting across a portfolio of engineering projects.
• Preparing and reviewing client invoices.
• Monitoring project budgets, costs and profitability.
• Supporting revenue recognition and project financial reporting.

HireIQ is partnering with an established engineering consultancy to appoint an experienced Project Accountant to join its Morris County office.

This opportunity is suited to someone with a strong engineering or A/E project accounting background who is comfortable managing project financials, billing, collections and reporting across a varied portfolio of engineering projects.

You’ll work closely with project managers and senior leadership, supporting projects ranging from smaller assignments through to multimillion-dollar engagements.

The Role

You will be responsible for supporting the financial management of engineering projects from setup through billing, collections and closeout.

What We’re Looking For

• Approximately 6–15 years of accounting experience
• Previous experience within an engineering, architecture or consulting engineering environment
