Colliers Engineering & Design in Miami, FL is seeking a Project Accountant to support project managers by ensuring accurate and timely invoicing. You will enter and review new projects in our accounting system, confirm contractual requirements, prepare invoices, and produce simple reports as requested.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of three days per week in the Miami office to collaborate with the team.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance required or equivalent.
• Experience in project billing preferred in A/E/C.
• Proficient with MS Office and Excel.

Mansioni

• Setup new projects and tasks in our accounting software.
• Verify the setup of projects in BST in accordance with contract.
• Prepare draft invoices for Project Managers and collaborate on changes.
• Handle contract billing: time & materials, cost plus fixed fee, lump sum, fixed unit terms.
• Monitor expenses charged to projects and match with labor charges.
• Finalize and submit invoices with required backups and forms.
• Provide reports on project financial health for Managers.
• Assist collections and revise invoices as needed for payment.
• Digital filing of invoices and backup; perform other accounting tasks.

Overview

Do you love numbers and teamwork? We’re looking for a Project Accountant who’s ready to dive into dynamic projects and keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. The Project Accountant will work closely with project managers to ensure our clients are invoiced accurately and in a timely manner. The role includes entering and reviewing new projects into our accounting software, confirming that the project setup will meet client invoicing and contractual requirements, preparing invoices and submitting to the client, and producing simple reports as requested.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement; however, candidates must be able to work a minimum of three days per week in our Miami, FL office to support collaboration and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Setup new projects and tasks in our accounting software.
• Verify the setup of projects in BST are in compliance with contract.
• Prepare draft invoices for Project Managers and collaborate with them to make required changes.
• Contract billing may include time & material, cost plus fixed fee, lump sum, and fixed unit terms.
• Monitor/Match expenses charged to projects with the labor charges.
• Finalize and submit invoices to clients which may include preparing additional spreadsheets, forms and/or assembling expense backup.
• Provide requested reports for Project Managers to help them manage the financial health of their projects. (Requests for reports beyond the Project Accountant’s capability will be provided by a more senior staff member).
• Assist the collections department and project managers as needed to revise invoices or provide additional information to clients as needed for payment.
• Digital filing of invoices and backup.
• Perform other accounting tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance.
• Associate’s Degree + relevant experience.
• 0-2+ years experience in project billing preferred.
• Experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced knowledge in Excel.
• Prior experience with BST or similar accounting software.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and within deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Very strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
