Job summary

Jobot is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our Houston team. You will partner with project managers to monitor costs, profitability, billing, and financial performance on multiple active construction projects.

This full-time, hybrid role requires a bachelor's in accounting or related field, experience in construction accounting, and strong Excel skills. You will manage WIP schedules, assist month-end close, and support project financial analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience in construction or project-based accounting.
• Knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and project analysis.
• Familiarity with construction software or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting activities across multiple active projects.
• Track job costs, project budgets, committed costs, and expenditures.
• Prepare and reconcile Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.
• Support percentage-of-completion and contract revenue recognition.
• Prepare progress billings, including AIA billing where applicable.
• Analyze project profitability, variances, and budget-to-actual results.
• Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Accounting Managers, and Controllers.

Position Overview
