Job summary

URC Wilson & Company, Inc., based in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking a qualified Project Accountant to ensure accurate contract-compliant billing for client-focused projects. This full-time, hourly position enables collaboration with project teams and managers while handling various accounting functions in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in project administration, preferably in engineering or construction, and strong working knowledge of Deltek.

Annual salary rate ranges between $28.00 to $35.00 depending on experience. URC Wilson is an EEO employer.

• Ensure all billing transactions are accurately completed and recorded.
• Communicate and resolve billing issues with Project Accounting Manager.
• Review billing status of projects to ensure client and internal dates are met.

Join our team as a Project Accountant and play a key role in ensuring accurate, contract‑compliant billing for dynamic, client‑focused projects. This full‑time, hourly position offers the opportunity to collaborate with project teams and project managers while gaining hands‑on experience in various accounting functions within a supportive and professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete project start‑up and billings in a timely, accurate approach while following established company processes or procedures.
• Assist Project Accounting Manager as directed to accomplish billing period goals.
• Enter and manage new project start‑ups and additions.
• Prepare bath billings and finalize invoices for submission to clients.
• Ensure all billing transactions are accurately completed and recorded.
• Communicate, investigate billing issues and resolve with Project Accounting Manager.
• Review billing status of projects to ensure client & internal billing period dates are met.
• Enter vehicle log entries and maintain Master log tracking records.
• Handle unit corrections.
• Support payroll and Sectors to ensure timely posting of weekly timesheets and provide timesheet corrections.
• Generate and review various reports for the billing/accounting team.

Knowledge and Skills

• Working experience in Deltek; experience with Vision or Vantagepoint is a plus.

• Ability to apply and adapt quickly to new invoicing procedures.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary with a positive attitude.
