Job summary

LF Studios is seeking an organized, motivated accountant/bookkeeper to join our team. Reporting to the CFO, you will help monitor project budgets, support client billing, and maintain purchasing records across departments.

This role requires precision, reliability, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Online or Oracle NetSuite, strong Excel skills, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

The Role

We are seeking an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented accountant/bookkeeper to join our growing team. This position is an important link between Accounting and Project Management, helping maintain accurate financial records, monitor project budgets, support client billing and monthly work-in-process (WIP) calculations, and administer purchasing records. Reporting to the CFO, you will work closely with Project Management, Production, and Operations to support projects from kickoff through completion. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in accuracy, organization, follow-through, and problem-solving.

What You'll Do

Project Accounting & Budgeting

• Monitor and reconcile project budgets for labor, materials, and subcontracted services.
• Maintain project budgets and supporting schedules with a high degree of accuracy.
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with the preparation of financial and operational reports.
• Work with Project Managers to calculate client billings and prepare monthly WIP schedules.
• Research and reconcile client account discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor records, including tax forms, insurance certificates, and contact information.
• Track purchase requests, commitments, and spending against project budgets.
• Coordinate vendor onboarding and maintain required tax and compliance documentation.
• Generate purchasing and spending reports for management and Project Managers.
• Review purchasing records for completeness, accuracy, and proper approval.
• Follow up with internal team members to obtain missing approvals and supporting documentation.
• Support purchasing procedures and related internal controls.

General Administrative Support

• Contribute to special projects and process-improvement initiatives.
• Support cross-functional projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide administrative support to the Accounting and Operations teams, as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Dependable and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to accuracy, organization and follow-through.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three (3) years of bookkeeping or accounting experience using QuickBooks Online, Oracle NetSuite, or both.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
