Job summary

Reitman Personnel is assisting a premier architectural glass and metal contractor in Branford, CT, seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant. You will manage the full lifecycle of project finances from setup and budgeting to invoicing and close-out, ensuring contractual compliance and financial health for glazing projects.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, prepare complex invoices (AIA billing), and track lien waivers while maintaining accurate project lists and records.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of project accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Construction industry experience preferred
• Proficiency with Accubuild (training provided)
• Strong Excel data-entry and spreadsheet skills

We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team and uphold our commitment to financial discipline and accountability.

The Project Accountant serves as the financial foundation for our glazing projects. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of project financial management—from initial setup and budgeting to final invoicing and close-out. You will work closely with Project Managers to ensure every project remains financially healthy and compliant with contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign project numbers and enter project information into accounting software, maintain project list.
• Prepare and process complex client invoices, including AIA billing, prepare stored materials documents if applicable, track sales tax if applicable on your projects.
• Prepare and track lien waivers for all projects, ongoing receivables collections.
• Assist with various administrative and financial tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 –5 years of experience in project accounting or bookkeeping, preferably within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g.,Accubuild, will train)
• Excel skills for data entry into various spreadsheets
• Exceptional communication skills to coordinate between office and clients.
