Job summary

IDEX Corporation is seeking a Tooling Designer to design, develop, and maintain high-volume progressive stamping dies for punch press and clamp machines. You will collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations to optimize tooling performance, drive continuous improvement, and support new product introductions.

The role requires hands-on CAD expertise, a strong background in die design, and the ability to work with internal and external partners to ensure safety and reliability of tooling

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with advanced technical training or Tool & Die journeyman.
• At least 5+ years in progressive die manufacturing, including repair and troubleshooting.
• 2+ years of experience with SolidWorks.
• Experience troubleshooting stamping dies in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver progressive die designs meeting safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives.
• Ensure tooling supports high-volume manufacturing with long die life and maintainability.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime, scrap, and optimize throughput.
• Establish tooling standards for consistency and best practices across operations.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and suppliers to develop tooling solutions.
• Support manufacturability, scalability, and production readiness for new products.
