Job summary

Bon Secours is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for Progressive Care (Step down) at Southside Medical Center in Petersburg. The role supports patients with careful assessment, planning, and coordination across Med-Surg and ICU, with a focus on safety and quality of care.

The position requires 1 year of RN experience, with BSN preferred. A current RN license is required; ACLS/BLS are preferred at hire and ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience required
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
• BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure in state; ACLS/BLS certifications preferred at hire, ACLS within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment and evaluates effectiveness
• Serves as point of contact for patients’ care coordination across departments
• Administer medications safely according to state practice and policies
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement in the department
