Job summary

Advocate Health’s Atrium Health unit seeks a part-time registered nurse for the 11-bed Progressive Care Unit. The role involves two 12-hour shifts weekly, including 3 weekend shifts and various holidays, with a strong emphasis on patient-centered care and teamwork.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of nursing experience, active RN licensure, and BLS certification. The unit supports a virtual nursing team and requires adherence to safety and EHR documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active, unrestricted RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where services are provided.
• BLS certification. Telehealth/virtual modalities note may apply.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care, involving patients and families.
• Monitors patients, adjusts care plans, collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and ensures accurate EHR documentation.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication and delegation within the team.
• Pursues ongoing education and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and ensures unbiased patient care.
• May float to other units within the service area as needed.
