Job summary

CCRES Educational and Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Progress Success Intervention Specialist for the Philadelphia Virtual Academy. The role starts with absenteeism administration and baseline data collection, shifting to direct student and family interventions in the fall.

Hybrid work is possible, with building-based duties in Philadelphia and a start date in August 2026. The position focuses on student growth, intervention planning, and collaboration with teachers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Absenteeism management: track absenteeism data and baseline metrics at start of contract year.
  • Data integrity: maintain student tracking frameworks and do not alter historical sorting.
  • Provide full-day monitoring to capture student progress across academic hours.
  • Track daily assignments completed; award Class Dojo points for 8+ assignments or daily attendance.
  • Reach out to families by phone by 12:00 PM to motivate login after lunch; document outreach activities.
  • Launch direct services and family outreach starting in October; support teachers in online P2S space.
  • Support teachers with digital tools and content in the online P2S space.
  • Engage students with an interactive slide deck splash page at entry to virtual space.

SUMMARY:

The Progress 2 Success Specialist is a 10-month, hybrid position focused on comprehensive absenteeism tracking, student growth, and systemic support for 9th and 10th-grade students. Operating with a split timeline, this role begins the contract year focused on foundational absenteeism administration and baseline data collection before launching direct student and family intervention spaces in the fall. This role supports student referrals submitted by BVA/PVA teachers

  • Location:Hybrid - this position may work from home 2-5 times per week based on program needs & at The Ferguson School Building (2000 N 7th St Phila, PA 19122)
  • Philadelphia residents preferred
  • Schedule:8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, following the PVA academic calendar year
  • Start Date: August 11, 2026
  • Pay Rate: $19.40 per hour
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:
Absenteeism Management & Systems Tracking
  • Early-Year Absenteeism Administration: Manage preliminary absenteeism data collection, baseline tracking, and system responsibilities at the start of the contract year.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain and manage student tracking frameworks, strictly adhering to the structures established in the Progress to Success Tracking records without altering historical sorting.
  • Full-Day Coverage & Monitoring: Provide full-day support and monitoring to ensure student progress is captured across all academic hours.
  • Work Completion Tracking & Incentivizing: Track the volume of daily assignments completed by students. Award Class Dojo (Python Points) to students who complete at least 8 assignments per day in any course and/or are actively present for the day in the P2S intervention space.
  • Family & Parent Contact: Conduct direct telephone outreach to families if their student is not present in the P2S online space by 12:00 PM daily, with the primary goal of motivating students to log in after lunch.
  • Documentation: Consistently document all phone calls and parental outreach activities.
Intervention & Program Integration
  • Launch Direct Services: Transition into active student interventions, face-to-face/virtual supports, and targeted family outreach beginning in October.
  • Collaboration & Context: Partner with leadership to integrate historical context and enrollment projections into active, individualized student growth plans.
  • Teacher Support: Provide comprehensive digital and technical support to core teachers entering the online P2S space to assist students with various courses and content.
  • Student Engagement & Communication: Facilitate an interactive slide deck splash page to engage students upon entering the virtual space.
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS:
  • Strong proficiency with web-based programs, tracking spreadsheets, and online applications (e.g., Class Dojo, virtual meeting spaces).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, specifically for professional telephone outreach to families.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strict attention to data integrity.
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment while maintaining full-day monitoring coverage.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in education, social work, human services, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth or implementing student intervention strategies in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Experience managing virtual communication channels or operating within online learning environments is preferred.
  • Philadelphia residency is preferred due to the school-based nature of the position.
