Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in Marion, IL is seeking a Programs Manager II responsible for P&L on a designated program and for implementing multi-program complexes. You will oversee planning, budgeting, staffing and performance, while promoting programs across the organization and ensuring compliance with policies and external regulations.

You will report to senior leadership, provide updates, and lead a team to deliver on time and within standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree and 2–4 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Has P&L responsibilities for a specific program.
  • Implements and administers one or more corporate programs, typically consisting of multiple programs or sub-programs.
  • Executes programs that meet the needs of the organization or its employees or customers.
  • Participates in planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance of corporate programs.
  • Promotes the program throughout the organization and tracks utilization.
  • Supervises program staff to ensure timely, quality work.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness via data and KPIs.
  • Ensures activities comply with policies and external regulations.
  • Provides reports and updates to senior management.

Essential Functions
  • Has P&L responsibilities for a specific program.

  • Participates in all aspects of corporate programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance.
  • Promotes the program throughout the organization and tracks utilization.
  • Supervises the work of program or project staff to ensure that work is completed on time or in accordance with established standards or specifications.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics.
  • Ensures that activities are in compliance with organizational policies and any relevant external regulations.
  • Provides reports and updates to senior management or other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Critical professional related technical skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Business degree preferred
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Ability to build collaborative relationships. Detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines. Project management skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
