Job summary

SHINE Systems in Manassas, VA is seeking a software engineer to contribute to real-time TSG-style systems for naval readiness. You will work across Java, React, C++, and other modern languages in a collaborative team environment. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, or CS and have about 5 years of relevant experience.

U.S. security clearance eligibility is required, with company-supported IAT Level I certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or CS or equivalent software development background.
• Approximately 5 years hands-on experience in at least one of: real-time acoustic signal processing, parallel processing, microservices, or signal/data visualization systems.
• Must be able to obtain U.S. security clearance and be willing to earn IAT Level I certification after hire.

What You’ll Work On

• Develop and enhance Tactical Signature Guidance (TSG) systems, including sonar TDAs across multiple production code baselines.




• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software challenges while contributing innovative solutions.




• Learn and apply new programming languages and technologies, with mentorship and support from experienced teammates.




• Occasionally support hardware system configuration and build-out, gaining exposure to full system integration.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or Computer Science or other degree that provides software development expertise equivalent to standard computer science curriculum




• Experience: Approximately 5 years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following:
