Job summary

Boeing seeks a contract software engineer to design, adapt, test, and maintain applications. This role is a contract assignment managed through a Boeing approved third party, with oversight for a Red Hat Linux migration of a legacy C/C++ system used for precision time synchronized data.

Candidates must meet security clearance requirements and bring strong C, C++, Python, Qt, Git skills, plus TCP/UDP and tcpdump. Linux and Windows experience is desirable.

Job description

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Designs, programs, tests, implements, documents and maintains computing applications. Gathers and evaluates end user requirements. Writes and compiles code and constructs database objects based on documented design and analyzes information to determine architecture specifications, parameters for software compatibility, application security needs and other application architecture requirements. Modifies or upgrades applications to maintain software functionality. Identifies and resolves programming or application architecture problems. Reviews system performance and identifies and recommend improvements.

This position is for a Redhat expert to assist in the movement of a custom software suite from suse Linux to Redhat Linux. The custom software system was written in C and C++ and is used for the acquisition of precision time synchronized positional and RF data.

Requirements

A secret level clearance is required for this position

Pay Rate Range

60 - 65 USD hourly
