Job summary

The UN Secretariat's Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) seeks an Associate Programme Management Officer to support its Subprogramme 1, focusing on monitoring, advocacy, and data-driven planning.

This role reports to the Senior Economic Affairs Officer and contributes to enhancing policy coordination and project evaluation.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree required; alternatively a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience.
• Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration, or a related area.
• Experience with international organizations and intergovernmental processes is desirable.
• Skills in data collection, analysis, and presentation are essential.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programmes and projects, monitoring progress and identifying issues for corrective action.
• Conduct basic research, collecting and analyzing statistical data from various sources to support programme operations.
• Provide substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation, including reviewing emerging issues and trends.
• Prepare written outputs such as background papers, analytical notes, and reports.
• Offer administrative and substantive support for meetings and conferences, including agenda preparation and logistics.
• Engage in outreach activities, develop training workshops, and present on assigned topics.
• Participate in field missions, providing substantive and administrative support and collecting data.
• Contribute to data analysis, trend identification, and reporting using data visualization methods for planning and decision-making.
