The United Nations in New York seeks a Programme Management Officer within the Development Coordination Office to support RC system-wide coordination and contingency planning.
The incumbent works closely with DCO units, regional offices and the SDG coordination, policy and programme division, and engages in security liaison, crisis management, and representation within inter-agency networks.
In its Resolution A/RES/72/279, the United Nations General Assembly endorsed the transformation of the Development Operations Coordination Office (DCO) as a stand-alone coordination office within the United Nations Secretariat. DCO exercises managerial and oversight functions of the resident coordinator system under the oversight of the Chair of United NationsSustainable Development Group (UNSDG).In 2026, DCO undertook a recalibrationto ensure the RC system remains optimally configured to support the acceleration of the 2030 Agenda and embodies theUN2.0shift- anchored in data, digital, innovation, behavioral science,strategic foresight, and amission driven organizational culture. The position is located in the Office of Assistant Secretary-General in the United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) in New York and reports to the Chief Corporate Services. The Programme Management Officer works closely with all DCO organizational units, in particular regional offices and the SDG coordination, policy and programme division. The incumbent supports coordination of RC system-wide crisis management and response, security liaison and representation within the Inter-Agency Security Management Network, as well as RC System wide coordination and support to coordination of contingency planning, strategic engagement with Organizational Resilience and Management Systems of the UN Secretariat.
