Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking a Program Support Technician for the Red Onion State Prison. This wage position provides clerical and administrative support, with data entry and report production duties.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent and prior customer service and office experience. Work is time-limited to up to 1,500 hours per year with a maximum of 29 hours per week and no state benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience providing customer service and administrative support.
• Experience using office equipment (computers, printers, copier and fax).
• Knowledge of office filing systems and standard English grammar and punctuation.
• Keyboarding skills.
• Ability to follow written and oral instruction and transcribe accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with multi-line communication systems.
• Experience in filing or data entry.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical and administrative support.
• Maintains filing systems, copies, and distributes materials, and purges inactive files.
• Performs keyboarding duties, entering data into forms, documents, and agency data systems.
• Produces administrative reports and correspondences.
