Job summary

Heritage Behavioral Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Community Support Specialist – Program Support to provide skill-building, case management, and community-based mental health services across Macon County.

The role emphasizes a compassionate, person-centered approach within an interdisciplinary team. You will work under the Program Manager and alongside Community Support Specialists, with most services delivered face-to-face in community settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus five years of supervised mental health or social service experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, or a human service field.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for assigned caseloads during staff illness, vacation, training, or other planned and unplanned absences.
• Respond to urgent or time-sensitive client needs across the program.
• Accompany or transport individuals to appointments when staff are unavailable or need support.
• Review client plans, notes, and goals to ensure continuity of care when stepping into a caseload.
• Communicate with primary staff and supervisors about services provided and client updates.
• Submit accurate, timely documentation.
• Assist with program-wide tasks during periods of lower coverage demand.
