Job summary

Heritage Behavioral Health Center is seeking a Community Support Specialist I - Program Support to provide skill-building, case management, and community-based mental health services across Macon County. You will work with an interdisciplinary team and float across programs to meet needs, delivering services primarily in client homes and community settings.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, reliability, and a person-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED with 5 years of supervised mental health or social service experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a human service field.
• Must be 21+ years old and have a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for assigned caseloads during staff illness, vacation, or other absences.
• Respond to urgent or time-sensitive client needs across the program.
• Accompany or transport individuals to appointments when staff are unavailable.
• Review client plans and goals to ensure continuity of care when stepping into a caseload.
• Communicate with staff and supervisors about services provided and follow-up needs.
• Complete accurate documentation in line with program and funding requirements.
• Assist with program-wide tasks during periods of lower coverage demand.
