Job summary

The Town of Cary's Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources department is seeking an energetic Program Supervisor- Outdoor Adventure to lead the Bond Park Boathouse and Cary Action Sports Park. You will supervise staff, coordinate action sports and urban adventure programs, and ensure safe, high‑quality experiences for individuals and groups.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, manage rentals, and collaborate with PRCR partners is required.

Qualifications

Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation with major coursework in Recreation, Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, Outdoor Recreation or related field.
Minimum of two years of experience in action sports, urban adventure, or outdoor recreation programming.
Minimum of two years supervising full-time, part-time, seasonal or contract staff.

Responsibilities

Oversee development, planning, implementation and evaluation of action sports and urban adventure programs and experiences.
Manage Bond Park Boathouse and Cary Action Sports Park operations, including rentals and customer service.
Recruit, hire, train and supervise temporary, seasonal staff and contract instructors.
Develop staffing schedules to cover operational needs at sites.
Maintain program data, schedules, registrations and reporting.
Promote Outdoor Adventure offerings; assist with communications and promotions.
