Chimes in Fairfax, Virginia is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help people with intellectual and behavioral challenges live with dignity and independence in a supportive, team-based setting. You will empower individuals and participate in a culture built on compassion and respect.

You will supervise and coach staff, ensure active treatment, assist with staffing needs, and support training and growth opportunities.

Competenze

• Experience in disability services preferred (not required - we train!)
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+ lbs.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 3 years unsuspended driving history with no more than 3 points, or 2+ years unsuspended driving history with a clean record.

Mansioni

• Provides supervision, training, coaching, discipline, and performance evaluation to an assigned group of staff and persons served.
• Verifies staff attendance and ensures staff are providing active treatment for all people assigned.
• Ensures adequate staff in attendance and arranges temporary staffing when needed.
• Assesses need for adaptive equipment to enhance productivity and makes referrals to the appropriate manager.
• Ensures materials are in place at start of each shift and throughout program time.
• Documents incidents as needed and uses crisis intervention when necessary.
• Responsible for staff development, including orientation, training, and ongoing learning.
• Works with the manager to implement strategies to reduce turnover.
• Conducts visits/inspections to ensure contractual specs are met.
• Familiar with all applicable DOL regulations relating to persons served.
• Serves as a positive role model for other employees.

What You'll Do

• Provides supervision, training, coaching, discipline, and performance evaluation to an assigned group of staff and persons served. Provides feedback and discipline, along with the program manager, when appropriate.
• Verifies the staff attendance and ensures the staff is providing active treatment for all people assigned.
• Ensures there is adequate staff in attendance at the program and obtains temporary staff or alternate staffing options when needed
• Assesses the need for adaptive equipment to enhance people's productivity/activity level and makes appropriate referrals and suggestions to the appropriate manager.
• Confirms that adequate materials are in place at the start of each shift and throughout the program time
• Documents incidents as neededUses crisis intervention skills in emergencies when needed
• Responsible for staff development, including program orientation, completion of training, and ongoing learning of direct support staff.
• Works with the manager and implements strategies to reduce turnover
• Conducts visits and/or inspections of assigned areas to ensure all contractual specifications are being met
• Familiar with all DOL regulations as relating to persons served, and ensures they are all being met
• Serves as a positive role model for other employees in the program

What You Bring
