Job summary

Rhode Island Department of Corrections seeks a Programming Services Officer to support the head of a department by coordinating program development, management, and operations. The position follows a Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm schedule, with a salary range of $82,377.00–$93,271.00 and opportunities to contribute to public services.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a college of recognized standing with specialization in business management or related field.
  • Experience in supervisory position in a public or private agency involved in development, management, or operation of a service program.
  • Ability to analyze data, forecast program needs, and develop programs based on data.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head of a department by relieving superior of complex duties involved in the development, management, reorganization, and operation of a departmental/divisional program.
  • Act as program supervisor, managing the services of the program, and monitoring for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Study and analyze operational procedures and prepare detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Coordinate the flow of work among programs, reassign space, equipment, supplies and personnel as needed.
  • Review state and federal laws, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance in plans and proposals.
  • Prepare the agency's annual budget and perform related administrative research.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business management
