State of Rhode Island is seeking a Community Correction Assessment Analyst to prepare comprehensive offender assessments and provide recommendations for programming to support rehabilitation. This role involves interviewing offenders, gathering family and environmental information, and coordinating with courts and DOC staff.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and experience in social work, case management, or counseling within correctional or human services settings.

Classification Community Correction Assessment Analyst Class Definition
To be responsible for the preparation of comprehensive assessments of adult offenders referred by the court or the Department of Corrections Classification unit and to make appropriate recommendations as to level of programming needed to effect rehabilitation; and to do related work as required.
Works under the general supervision of a superior who reviews work to ensure conformance with accepted assessment and casework techniques and prescribed departmental policies and standards.

Education: Such as may have been gained through: possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Education from an accredited college of higher education;
Experience: Such as may have been gained through: considerable employment, under close supervision, involving the application of assessment, social casework, or counseling techniques in a correctional or human service organization. Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
Work collaboratively as part of a growing team to deliver reentry services for individuals leaving incarceration. In addition to serving a designated caseload of reentering clients, this position works with staff in the Reentry Unit to help ensure that every person exiting prison is provided with support. Daily responsibilities include visiting and interviewing incarcerated clients to create reentry plans, coordinating release plans with colleagues and DOC partners, completing referrals for community-based services, and providing post-release follow up in the community. CCAA’s are expected to assist clients with the preparation of forms and applications, organize necessary groups and forums for clients and partners to attend, and accurately document services and data in appropriate DOC databases. The ideal candidate should have notable professional experience in community corrections and reentry, social work and case management, and trauma informed practices.
