Job description

The Statewide Vital Records Coordinator at the Arizona Department of Child Safety reviews, researches, and processes vital record requests (birth certificates, death certificates, social security) for DCS Specialists to help ensure children are placed with family members or responsible parties. The position works with local, state, federal, and international entities to obtain vital documentation and requires on-site work a minimum of three days per week at the Legal Services office in Phoenix.

Key qualifications:

• Knowledge of various software applications, databases, and court proceedings related to dependency, severance, guardianship and adoption cases
• Skills in obtaining vital record documentation nationally and internationally, analyzing court orders, and creating legal documents
• Ability to find, collect, and evaluate information; manage difficult parties; and maintain confidentiality of vital records
• Two years of work experience analyzing vital records, legal documents, and composing complex communications (preferred)
• Valid Arizona driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain DCS Central Registry clearance and Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Computer proficiency, detail orientation, and strong organization and time management skills
