Job DescriptionJob Description

Sweet Group LLC is seeking a New York City-based Program Operations Director. The Program Operations Director will be responsible for the technical advising and management of various construction and design-build projects. This individual will lead, coordinate, and optimize all aspects of construction execution to ensure successful project delivery, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The selected candidate will serve as Project Executive on a portfolio of projects, advise and manage project management staff and superintendents, work with the Estimating Department and PMs to develop detailed budgets.

This role requires a strong leader with excellent project management skills, deep industry knowledge and construction experience.

This is a full-time, in-person position in our New York City Office located in lower Manhattan. Reports directly to the Vice President.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Executive on various construction projects throughout the Tri-State Area.
  • Manage a team of Project Managers and Superintendents assigned to design build and construction projects, including managing project coverage and assignments.
  • In addition to PMs and Project Superintendents, responsible for daily coordination with subcontractors, agency representatives, estimating team, accounting team, and internal proposal staff.
  • Perform technical and constructability reviews, scope development and proposal development on new pursuits and existing jobs.
  • Responsible for ensuring all required project deliverables are completed by assigned staff, including but not limited to, submittals, risk management, budgeting, safety planning, quality planning, commissioning, and design deliverables as required by projects.
  • Support business development by working with the proposal and marketing teams to develop bid proposals and other materials.
  • In partnership with assigned project management staff, develop and maintain project schedules and timelines as required for each project.
  • Work with the Estimating Department to develop project budgets, review subcontractor proposals and develop project scope requirements.
  • Work with the Data Analytics team to develop key performance indicators for active projects.
  • Attendance at field site visits.
  • Attend various industry events as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring adherence to executed contracts, compliance goals (such as goals) and any other Client requirements.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA), Certified Construction Manager (CCM) required.
  • 7+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • 30 Hour OSHA certification, required.
  • Prior experience on public works projects required.
  • Experience with Design-Build projects, highly desired.
  • Prior work on design-build projects, a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing field operations on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide on-site teams.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets and resources.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with requirements of contracts specifications and drawings.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, a plus.
  • Travel throughout the Tri-State area required.

Physical Demands:

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
