We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sr. Director of Operations & Logistics to join our Ingredients + Specialties business!

As a key leader within Univar Solutions, you will drive operational excellence, optimize supply chain performance, and enhance service capabilities across North America. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and elevate our warehousing and transportation strategies, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and scalability as we continue to grow.

You will be responsible for the overall strategic coordination, direction, implementation, and execution of operations across both the United States and Canada, including all warehousing and transportation service providers.

What You'll Do

1. Build & Lead a High-Performing Logistics Team – Develop and inspire a best-in-class leadership team across Warehousing, Inventory Control, Transportation, and other strategic focus areas. Cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
2. Optimize Logistics Operations – Ensure the right talent is in place and that processes align with our business objectives. Drive operational excellence across all logistics functions.
3. Deliver Key Business Results – Achieve annual financial, operational, and safety goals, ensuring cost efficiency and risk mitigation within the I&S SCOPS team.
4. Manage Third-Party Partnerships – Lead the identification, contracting, auditing, and performance management of third-party warehouse, terminal, and transportation providers. Ensure these partnerships meet safety, service, and cost objectives while enhancing supply chain capabilities.
5. Oversee Inventory & Logistics Execution – Manage daily logistics operations, including inventory management, to ensure seamless execution, optimal stock levels, and service excellence.
6. Shape the Future of Logistics Network – Contribute to the strategy and development of North American logistics and fulfillment network, supporting business growth, new supplier integration, and product expansion.

What You'll Need

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a strong background in operations, transportation, and logistics within the chemical and ingredients distribution sector.
2. Proven experience in building, leading, and inspiring large, complex teams while balancing operational and strategic objectives.
3. Deep understanding of supply chain profitability drivers and how to optimize safety, service, cost, and quality.
4. Skilled at navigating complex environments, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and aligning teams around priorities.
5. Ability to develop and retain top talent through coaching and strategic growth opportunities.
6. Thrives in fast-paced environments, anticipating challenges and adapting strategies to deliver results, managing sensitive issues with discretion.
