Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a seasoned Program Manufacturing Manager to lead a project team on a major, complex program. You will serve as the primary client contact, define project strategy, and oversee budgets, schedules, and risk with internal stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have a four-year engineering degree and 10+ years of experience in design engineering, HVAC/plumbing systems, and large-scale project delivery.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering or applicable experience.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience.
• Expert knowledge of applicable systems design (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) and design engineering aspects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of employees, clients and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Develops client relationships by providing project status updates to client and leadership.
• Partners with management to develop and implement project strategies.
• Manages budget reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders, etc. for project.
• Participates in project meetings with internal departments to discuss project schedule and issues as needed.
• Partners with stakeholders to ensure scope and direction of project is on schedule.
• Delegates work and coaches the project team; provides performance feedback.

Southland’s Hyperscale Data Center Program team partners with our division teams to support delivery for hyperscale data center owners. The team translates each client’s expectations, technical standards, and operating programs into practical guidance that helps our teams plan and execute their scope of work consistently.

The Program Manufacturing Manager serves as an internal consulting partner to the Sr. Project Manager and their team, providing specialized expertise and client-specific guidance throughout planning and execution. Together, they align approaches with client requirements, anticipate and resolve challenges, and apply lessons learned across projects. The division counterpart retains responsibility for execution within their scope, while the program role supports alignment, consistency, and successful delivery across the client program.

This position is responsible for managing a project team for a single large complex project or multiple smaller projects, including providing coaching and performance feedback. In addition, this role serves as the primary point of contact for the project.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of applicable systems design, such as HVAC, plumbing, etc., as well as all design engineering aspect
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communication with all levels of employees, clients and general contractors
• Proven ability to manage multiple larger complex projects
• Strong public speaking ability
• Ability to present proposals to clients
• Strong computer skills, including CADD, ERP and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel
