Job summary

Clark College seeks a full-time, permanent Program Manager A in the Advising, Wellness, and Career Services department within Student Affairs. The role provides leadership of office operations, budget, and student success technologies, with a focus on equity-centered service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of professional related work experience, or equivalent experience.
  • One year of supervising staff in a student services or related environment.
  • One year of budget experience including reconciliation and budget management.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with navigating college policies and procedures and provide appropriate resources to help ensure student success.
  • Lead daily front office operations, ensuring efficient workflows and a welcoming, student-centered environment. Office operations include both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Supervise front desk staff and student employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance support.
  • Coordinate and manage front desk staff schedules and service coverage to meet student and departmental needs.
  • Provide exemplary service to students, staff, faculty and community members in electronic, virtual, phone and in-person interactions.
  • Coordinate and oversee budget development and fiscal management activities for assigned programs.
  • Review and analyze financial, statistical, and operational reports to assess program performance.
  • Authorize and approve program expenditures and administrative transactions, including requisitions, vouchers, budget revisions, personnel actions, grants, and contract proposals.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate program, college, and state policies, procedures, and operational practices.
  • Support implementation and effective use of student success technologies (e.g., Watermark, PeopleSoft and scheduling systems), including staff training and process improvements.
  • Participate in leadership discussions and provide recommendations on operations, business practices, and service delivery.
  • Conduct and participate in meetings and events in face-to-face and/or virtual settings Attend regular staff meetings and document meeting minutes as needed.
  • Collect and analyze service data, identify trends, and support data-informed decision-making.
  • Manage office needs and make appropriate requests for facilities, IT, Custodial and other areas as needed.
  • Monitor budget activity using PeopleSoft, prepare reports, and identify potential concerns or opportunities.
  • Utilize standard office software and learn new technologies; maintain organized and accurate records.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies and laws (e.g., FERPA, HIPPA, ADA, Title IX).
  • Serve as a member of college committees, councils, or teams as assigned or approved by supervisor
  • Perform related duties as required.
