Our offices in Lindsay, Mississauga, and Calgary support private and public geotechnical projects across Canada and around the world with on-site geotechnical engineering expertise and comprehensive laboratory testing. Role and Responsibilities
• This position will report to the Director, Engineering.
• The successful candidate should be flexible in assignments, willing to travel periodically to meet with clients or at job sites outside of Canada, and eager to learn.
• Leadership of projects in solar foundation design for various clients and sectors.
• Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with Chief Operating Officer and Business Development Manager to assist with business development and marketing needs.
• Coordination with clients to define work programs and budgets, provided leadership and strategy including general oversight and planning, and project management.
• Support staff development through recruiting, mentoring, and training.
• Develop and enhance key client relationships and would serve as a primary company and contact on projects.
• Full managerial responsibility for all aspects of a project including safety, scope development, contract negotiations, cost control, staff management, quality control and cash management on large projects.
• Stay current with industry trends, codes, and regulations related to solar foundation design and construction.
• Coordinate work efforts and provide senior review of work performed.
• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
• Manage and deliver quality projects safely, on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.
• Complete peer review of projects in department and other departments, based on previously completed projects.
• Work closely with other Program Managers to ensure projects have seamless transition from design to construction activities.
• Complete short- and long-term staffing needs with Director of Engineering Services and Director of Human Resources to ensure no shortfall for projects.
• Report project performance to shareholders and controller on quarterly basis.
• The successful candidate shall be a licensed engineer in good standing in the Province of Quebec, with the ability to become licensed in other provinces.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in consulting and construction management, with a minimum of 6 years in consulting.
• The successful candidate should be flexible in assignments, willing to travel periodically, and eager to learn.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Valid driver’s license in Canadian Jurisdiction.
