Job summary

City of Berkeley, CA invites applications for the Program Manager II position to organize and manage major City programs with high visibility and substantial impact.

The incumbent will lead strategic planning, operations, and management of at least two units within Berkeley's Housing and Community Services Division, overseeing affordable housing initiatives, supportive services, and division-wide special projects in service of low-income, homeless, senior, and disabled community members.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, or a related field.
• Five (5) years in the development and implementation of programs.
• Ability to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet program needs.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage major City programs or projects with high visibility and substantial impact.
• Develop and implement program goals and elements; supervise staff and develop procedures.
• Lead strategic planning, operations, and management of at least two units within Berkeley's Housing and Community Services Division.
• Oversee affordable housing initiatives, supportive services, and division-wide special projects for low-income, homeless, senior, and disabled community members.
