Job summary

Volunteers of America Mid-States seeks a Program Manager I to oversee the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program in Owensboro, KY. The role reports to Senior Director and Associate Director of Veteran Services, driving program operations and compliance in a community setting.

Responsibilities include outreach, staff supervision, budgeting, case file reviews, team meetings, and maintaining HMIS.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Social Work or related undergrad degree with minimum 3 years in the field; 7 years in the field with no degree; or a Veteran with 5 years related work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to access local resources, advocate, counsel, assess family needs, and collaborate with local service providers.
• Value-based work ethic aligned with commitment, compassion, diversity, justice, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach in local communities.
• Supervise staff and conduct training; perform regular employee evaluations.
• Assist in budgeting and financial planning for the program.
• Review employee case files and convene weekly treatment team meetings.
• Ensure compliance with VA and VOA policies and procedures.
• Manage property for the SSVF regional office housing the program.
• Complete documentation, reporting, and program statistics in a timely manner.
• Maintain HMIS and program databases; build relationships with service providers.
