Job summary

The Social Science Matrix at University of California, Berkeley seeks a Program Manager to develop and implement an intellectual vision and programming calendar, identify collaborative initiatives, and pursue fundraising strategies in support of faculty and graduate researchers.

The role blends program administration, event management, outreach, and development, requiring strong edit/writing skills, and the ability to work with the Director and diverse campus partners.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of university budget, accounting, and fund management policies.
• Strong communication, listening, critical thinking, and advising skills.
• Experience with event planning, fundraising basics, contracts and grants regulations.
• Ability to handle confidential information and multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conceive and monitor Matrix programs aligned with strategic goals.
• Coordinate calls for applications and reviewers for Matrix programs.
• Prepare agendas and reports for advisory board meetings.
• Serve as primary admin contact for the Director and support staff.
• Assist with planning and staffing program events, including evenings/weekends.
• Support fundraising activities and donor communications.
