Job summary

Right At School in Harvard, IL is seeking an Educator to lead activities for before & after school programs. You’ll greet students, plan enrichment activities, supervise transitions, support homework time, and build strong relationships with families in a safe, structured setting.

Our programs deliver hands-on enrichment activities, homework support, active play, social-emotional learning, and more - all guided by a mission to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give families peace of mind. As an Educator, you'll work directly with kids - leading activities, facilitating a safe and structured environment, and building relationships - while gaining valuable experience in education and child development.

Pay Rate: $20-25 per hour (based on education and experience)

Program Hours: Monday-Friday: Mon-Fri: 7:15AM-8:30AM and 2:40PM-5:30PM

Location: Harvard, IL

What You'll Do

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records


• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you're working with


• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed


• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment


• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques


• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off regarding their child's day


• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports


• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day


• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff

What We're Looking For

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred)


• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games


• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults


• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule


• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift


• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team


• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed

Illinois State Requirements

• First Aid and CPR-in-person (ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)


• Cleared tuberculosis test (ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)


• 18+ years of age


• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
