Job summary

Right At School in Lemont, IL is seeking an Educator to lead activities, ensure a safe, structured environment, and build positive relationships with students before and after school.

You will plan daily enrichment activities, facilitate homework time, and communicate with parents at pick‑up/drop‑off, earning $15–$18 per hour at multiple school sites.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games.
• Outstanding customer service and communication with children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part‑time schedule.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students and take attendance.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons.
• Facilitate homework time and assist with academic tasks.
• Supervise during free play, snack time, and transitions.
• Address minor conflicts using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick‑up/drop‑off.
• Report safety incidents and log reports promptly.
• Set up and clean‑up space and materials daily.
• Attend brief daily team meetings.

Position Details

Pay Rate: $15-$18 per hour (based on education and experience)

Program Hours: Before School: / After School: Monday-Friday (6:30AM-9:00AM) -(3:00PM-6:00PM)

Location: Lemont, IL after-school area site locations

What You'll Do

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you're working with
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick‑up and drop‑off regarding their child's day
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports
• Set up and clean‑up program space and materials each day
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff

What We're Looking For

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred)
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part‑time schedule
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed

Illinois State Requirements

• First Aid and hands‑on CPR
• Cleared tuberculosis (TB) test
• Food Handlers Card
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• Background Check with fingerprinting
