Right At School is seeking an Educator at La Grange, IL, working at a school site with morning and afternoon hours. Earn $21–$25 per hour based on education and experience, with benefits and growth opportunities in a hands-on, child-centered program.

You will lead activities, support homework, and maintain a safe, structured environment for children, while collaborating with a team and communicating with families daily.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games.
• Outstanding customer service and communication with children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part‑time schedule.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students; take attendance and maintain records.
• Plan and lead daily activities and enrichment lessons.
• Facilitate homework time and assist with academics as needed.
• Supervise during free play, snack, and transitions; ensure safety.
• Address minor conflicts using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up/drop-off.
• Log incidents and safety concerns with the Program Manager.
• Set up and clean up spaces and materials daily.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with staff.

Right At School provides Before & After School, Summer Camp, and Break Camp programs at 1,200+ schools across the country. Our programs deliver hands‑on enrichment activities, homework support, active play, social‑emotional learning, and more - all guided by a mission to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give families peace of mind. As an Educator, you'll work directly with kids - leading activities, facilitating a safe and structured environment, and building relationships - while gaining valuable experience in education and child development.

Pay Rate: $21-$25 per hour (based on education and experience)

Program Hours: Monday-Friday: 6:45 AM - 8:30 AM and 2:30PM-6:00PM (1:45 pm start on Wednesdays)

Location: La Grange 105 School District

What You'll Do

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you're working with
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off regarding their child's day
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff

Illinois State Requirements

• First Aid and CPR-in-person (ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
• Cleared tuberculosis test (ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
