Job summary

United Way Bay Area (UWBA) seeks a part-time Program Manager to lead the Free Tax Help coalition. Based in the Bay Area, you will oversee sites, coordinate volunteers, and strengthen partner capacity while ensuring compliant service delivery. This hybrid role requires in-person event attendance and a collaborative, mission-driven mindset.

You will guide program operations, train volunteers, manage data/reporting, and drive continuous improvement in service quality and community impact.

Responsibilities

• Manage counties, partner sites, and VITA locations.

• Provide coaching and technical assistance to sites and volunteers.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain volunteers for the coalition.
• Ensure tax law guidance and quality site standards are met.
• Develop training materials and operational resources.
• Lead projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
• Support data collection, reporting, and program impact stories.
