Job summary

The University of Houston-Clear Lake is seeking a Program Manager for Organizations and Leadership to lead student leadership initiatives on-site in Houston, TX. You will advise registered student organizations, design leadership curricula, and coordinate events that promote inclusive participation and community engagement.

You will manage budgets, track program outcomes, and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to strengthen campus involvement and strategic planning for student success.

Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education, student affairs, or leadership programs in diverse campus environments.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.

Role Description The Program Manager for Organizations and Leadership is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX. This position oversees student leadership and organizational development initiatives, including planning, implementing, and assessing programs that support registered student organizations and campus leaders. The Program Manager collaborates with faculty, staff, and student leaders to design workshops, trainings, and events that foster inclusive leadership, community engagement, and organizational effectiveness. Day-to-day responsibilities include advising student organizations, coordinating leadership development curricula, managing program budgets and records, and monitoring compliance with university policies and procedures. The role also involves collecting data for program evaluation, preparing reports, and contributing to strategic planning to enhance the student experience and strengthen campus involvement.

Qualifications

  • Program and project management skills, including planning, implementation, assessment, and budgeting for student-centered initiatives.
  • Experience advising or mentoring student organizations, with strengths in leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and conflict resolution.

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student affairs, leadership, organizational development, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience in higher education, student affairs, or leadership programs, particularly within a diverse and inclusive campus environment.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of student events and leadership initiatives.
