Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; equivalent years of experience may substitute.
• 3+ years of experience in development, events, communications, marketing, or related field; healthcare/academic environment preferred.
• Experience with academic or health symposia is a plus.
• On-site with hybrid work schedule; familiarity with university policies and procedures.

• Oversee collection and analysis of program activity data; ensure compliance with laws and UTHealth policies.

UTHealth Houston is looking for a Program Manager to assist with Academic Programs and Events. This position, working in the Office of Development and Alumni Engagement, serves as a central consultative resource for departments across the university to enhance the planning, promotion, and delivery of academic programs, including conferences, symposia, lectures, and other institutional academic events. This role focuses on ensuring efficiency, compliance, cost effectiveness, and brand consistency while preserving departmental ownership of program execution. You will collaborate with various faculty and staff who are organizing events to help them comply with university policies and procedures. You should have an events background that makes you an expert in logistics and event planning. Any experience with academic or health symposia will be a plus.

This role is salaried and full-time. It will require the employee to come on-site for at least a hybrid work schedule. You will be eligible for all UTHealth Houston benefits.

Position Summary

Serves an instrumental role in managing projects and providing strategic input on various program-related activities within the team. This position will align program activities to meet the department's goals and objectives.

Position Key Accountabilities

• Manages assigned program-related projects and activities, including developing timelines, tracking project status, and producing analytic reports.
• Leads program strategies with key stakeholders and others to ensure that timelines, deliverables, and budgets are met for program-related projects and that purchase orders and invoices are processed in a timely manner.
• Serves as a primary resource and a key liaison with internal and external constituencies on matters relating to program activities and projects.
• Develops solid working relationships with key partners, provides detailed communication to manage expectations, and provides timely guidance and feedback to accomplish a task or solve a problem.
• Identifies opportunities and leads strategies to enhance program operations to fulfill program goals and objectives.
• Oversees and/or coordinates the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data.
• Follows plans and protocols to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and UTHealth policies, rules, and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

At least a Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required. You may substitute required education with equivalent years of experience in a related field beyond the minimum experience requirement.

Minimum Experience

At least three (3) years of experience in development, events, communications, marketing, or a related field is required. Experience in a complex healthcare or academic environment preferred.

Physical Requirements

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
