Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead a strategic finance transformation initiative focused on transitioning the financial close, reporting, and governance processes from a public company operating model to a private company environment.

The Program Manager will oversee the redesign and implementation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close calendar, streamline reporting requirements, establish new governance structures, and ensure alignment across Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, IT, and business stakeholders.

The individual will serve as the central point of coordination for transformation workstreams, driving execution, risk management, executive reporting, and change adoption.

What you will be doing:
  • Lead the end-to-end Finance Transformation program across multiple workstreams.
  • Establish program governance, steering committee cadence, decision-making frameworks, and escalation processes.
  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans, milestones, dependencies, and critical path activities.
  • Manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies across functional teams.
  • Coordinate internal resources, consultants, and third-party vendors.
  • Assess existing public-company close processes, controls, and reporting requirements.
  • Design and implement a new private-company close calendar and operating model.
  • Optimize monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for simplification and elimination of activities driven solely by public-company requirements.
  • Define ownership, SLAs, and accountability across finance functions.
  • Redesign management reporting frameworks for a private-equity/private-company environment.
  • Align reporting packages with executive leadership, Board, lenders, and investor requirements.
  • Standardize KPI definitions, reporting templates, and data governance processes.
  • Improve visibility into business performance through streamlined reporting and dashboard capabilities.
  • Lead the transition from SEC-focused external reporting to private-company and sponsor reporting requirements.
  • Partner with Finance and IT leaders to identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Assess impacts on ERP, consolidation, planning, and reporting systems.
  • Coordinate implementation of technology enhancements supporting the new reporting and close model.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the transformation.
  • Partner closely with the CFO, Controller, Chief Accounting Officer, FP&A leadership, and Transformation Office.
  • Facilitate workshops with business and finance stakeholders to define future-state processes.
  • Drive alignment across departments regarding timeline expectations and dependencies.
  • Present progress updates, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Develop executive-level dashboards and status reporting.
  • Track budget, resource utilization, milestone achievement, and benefits realization.
  • Provide timely and actionable reporting to steering committees and sponsors.
  • Monitor program performance and ensure delivery against objectives.
  • Support organizational readiness for new close and reporting processes.
  • Develop communication plans, training materials, and transition strategies.
  • Drive adoption of new procedures, controls, and governance mechanisms.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement throughout the transformation lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of program management, finance transformation, or large-scale business transformation experience.
  • Experience leading finance transformation initiatives within complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience redesigning financial close and reporting processes.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, financial reporting, FP&A, and finance operations.
  • Experience working directly with CFOs, Controllers, and executive leadership teams.
  • Proven success managing cross-functional transformation programs exceeding $5M in budget or enterprise-wide scope.
Preferred Experience:
  • Direct experience supporting a transition from public-company to private-company ownership.
  • Experience with private equity-backed organizations.
  • Knowledge of SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and governance requirements.
  • Experience with ERP and reporting platforms such as SAP, Oracle, OneStream, Hyperion, BlackLine, Workday, or Anaplan.
  • Consulting or Big Four transformation experience preferred.
** The role compensation will be $80-$110/hour**
