Role Overview

Are you a passionate leader dedicated to early childhood excellence?

The Program Manager - Center-Based Program provides direct leadership, supervision, accountability, and operational oversight for assigned Early Head Start and/or Head Start center-based locations. The position ensures high-quality services to children and families, effective staff performance, and compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, applicable regulations, and agency policies and procedures.

The Program Manager is expected to actively manage assigned staff and center operations by addressing concerns promptly, coaching and developing employees, monitoring performance and compliance, resolving routine issues at the appropriate management level, and escalating matters when additional authority, resources, or guidance are required.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably related to one or more disciplines supervised. Early Childhood setting or program experience preferred.
• Management skills, supervisory experience, and/or Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred
• Must obtain a valid Iowa Driver’s License, proof of insurance, and maintain it throughout the duration of employment.
• Must be cleared and allowed to work in a childcare setting by the Iowa Department of Human Services by completing a State of Iowa Criminal History Record Check and FBI National Fingerprint Record Check.
