Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Project Manager will lead the end-to-end implementation and conversion of an Investment Accounting platform, managing project planning, business process transformation, data conversion, testing, governance, and production deployment. This role requires close collaboration with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Technology, Data Management, and third-party vendors to ensure successful delivery of a complex financial systems transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Planning & Delivery

• Develop and manage the project plan from current-state assessment through implementation, conversion, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Define and execute the accounting conversion strategy, including data migration, reconciliation methodology, opening balance validation, and sign-off criteria.
• Manage project scope, timeline, budget, resources, risks, and dependencies.
• Facilitate business process analysis and future-state design workshops to improve investment accounting operations.
• Ensure alignment of milestones, deliverables, and interdependent workstreams across the program.

Accounting Transformation & Controls

• Coordinate the design and implementation of multi-basis accounting processes, reporting requirements, and operational controls.
• Partner with Finance, Accounting, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment and reporting outputs.
• Establish reconciliation frameworks between accounting platforms, general ledger systems, and downstream reporting applications.
• Ensure governance, audit, regulatory, and internal control requirements are documented, tested, and validated prior to go-live.

Testing, Conversion & Deployment

• Lead system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and financial close testing activities.
• Manage conversion activities including data validation, reconciliation, issue resolution, and production readiness.
• Develop cutover plans and coordinate deployment activities.
• Oversee post-implementation support and stabilization efforts to ensure successful operational transition.

Governance & Stakeholder Management

• Maintain project status reporting, RAID logs, issue resolution plans, and executive communications.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure adherence to project commitments and service-level expectations.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and drive accountability for deliverables.
• Prepare and present updates to executive leadership, steering committees, and key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of project management experience leading enterprise-scale business and technology initiatives within financial services.
• Proven success delivering complex platform implementations or system conversions from planning through production deployment.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification.
• Expertise in project planning, scheduling, governance, risk management, and executive reporting.
• Experience managing third-party software implementation partners and vendor deliverables.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence executive-level stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage business, technology, data, and operational teams within a highly regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading investment accounting or accounting book-of-record (ABOR) platform conversions.
• Knowledge of multi-basis accounting frameworks (GAAP, Statutory, Tax, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with IBOR/ABOR operating models and investment data flows.
• Experience supporting investment operations, asset management, insurance, wealth management, or institutional investment environments.
• Exposure to leading financial platforms such as Aladdin, Eagle, SimCorp, PAM, SS&C, FIS, or similar solutions.
• CPA, CFA, Accounting Degree, or equivalent financial reporting/accounting experience.
