Job summary

Job description

It is an exciting time at Applied Aerospace and Defense. We are looking for a high-energy Program Manager to join our growing team. The program manager owns the execution of the full-product lifecycle from contract award through final delivery. They are responsible for managing the cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs as well as leading contract negotiations and coordinating the preparation of proposals and business plans. The program manager serves as the primary point of contact for program activities with customers and is involved in expanding the product line. Additionally, they work closely with the business development team to enhance the organization's business portfolio and lead monthly program reviews.

The Program Manager is responsible for multiple programs, in both development and production phases. This critical role is part of the management team in a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure programs are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage Integrated Program Team (IPT) consisting of engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain.
  • Tracking, reporting, and managing the overall program performance.
  • Work closely with operations, master scheduler, and production planners in the development and execution of high-volume production programs.
  • Brief both internal and external stakeholders on program performance, critical actions, and risks.
  • Manages multiple programs and successfully drives critical path items to completion by advocating for the customer across internal departments.
  • Communicates actions needed to support the schedules. Identifies blockers and drive solutions.
  • Lead engineering and operations in the planning and execution of new product introductions.
Compensation Range:

This position falls into a pay range of $140,000 to $170,000 based on experience and education.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university and 5+ years related experience in aerospace and defense program management.
  • 3+ years' experience managing aerospace and defense programs in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with program P&L ownership
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • U.S. Person, as defined by ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Degree in engineering or related fields, and experience with technical products.
  • Experience in a high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with military aircraft components and structures.
  • Skilled with Excel and project management software.
